New BFA CEO Richard Shetliffe BFA Chief Exec to step down in JuneThe British Footwear Association (BFA) has announced that its CEO, Richard Shetliffe, will be stepping down from his role in June this year.

This comes just two years after he joined the Association, following the departure of Lucy Reece-Raybould before him.

Under Mr Shetliffe’s leadership, the BFA has continued to play a pivotal role in supporting members on key industry issues, while also attracting new partners and members through a programme of engaging events, monthly member calls and webinars.

The Association said that Mr Shetliffe leaves with strengthened governance processes, improved financial stability, and a well-positioned organisation for continued growth and future success.

Jane Wilson, Chair of the BFA, commented: “The Board are delighted with what Richard has achieved during his time with the BFA. We are sorry to see him move on and wish him well with the next stage of his career. The Board has now commenced the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer.”

Commenting on his departure, Mr Shetliffe said: “I’ve had a great time at the BFA and I am proud to be leaving with the Association in a strong position for the next CEO to take forward.”

In the interim, he will continue to work closely with the BFA team and the Board to deliver the full programme of events planned for 2026.
